"I listened to all of the portable iPod speakers at BestBuy, and although the Bose system (for $399) sounded marginally better - the Altec Lansing iM600 is amazing considering the price. Great sound for a tiny unit, surprisingly good bass response, nice design, and FM tuner built in. If you can afford to spend $399 go with the Bose, if you're cost conscious you could do a whole lot worse than this little wonder."

"I compared all the other systems in this class for my iphone, and they could not compete with the iM600 on sound quality. This is by far the best sound for the buck, this unit in my opinion is the second best (BOSE SOUNDDOCK is #1), but if you're not trying to spend so much, go with this one. The battery life is adecuate and will play for over 3 hrs with the volume at a decent level outside. The one feature this lacks is an alarm, granted I did not purchase this for an alarm clock but it would be nice if it had one. Although when I dock the iphone, it will give you the not compatible notice and all you have to do is close the notice and it will play your music. I bought one for myself and also bought another one for a christmas present, I recommend it for its sound and portability."

"I have been looking for an iPod docking station for quite some time and was split between the Bose system and this one. While I was leaning towards the Bose for all the positive reviews, I just couldn't bring myself to shell out $350 for the portable model. For $100 I couldn't be happier with this unit. The battery seems to last forever, the sound is great, and it's a snap to use. Even my 4 year old has no problem using the remote. If you are looking for a good sounding solution for your iPod, this is a perfect product."
